Water facts

Nature’s filtration

Evian and Volvic both undergo distinct natural filtration processes to gain their purity and mineral content. Differences in geology will give distinct mineral contents – which in turn gives each water its own distinctive taste.

The magic of the Alps

Evian starts life as rain and melting snow on the peaks of the Alps. At a rate of 1- 2cm per day it filters through layers of glacial sand, slowly purifying and gaining it’s unique mineral content. For 15 years the water gradually slips through down the mountain until it reaches Evian, 800 metres below.

Volcanicity

Deep in the Volcanic region of the Auvergne in France, rain water is collected at the centre of the Puy (Volcano) de la Nugère, it then gently seeps through the volcanic layers.

During this underground process Volvic water is naturally filtered and through contact with the rocks and minerals acquires its unique mineral composition.

Volcanoes symbolize the power and natural energy of nature. This is why Volvic Natural Mineral Water refers to “Volcanicity” in its advertising.

Water and Healing

For centuries people have touted the benefits of natural mineral water. Whether they’re drinking it or bathing in it, many believe the varying mineral contents of different waters have beneficial effects on the body.

Reusing plastic water bottles

We do not advocate the practice of refilling our bottles with tap water after the original contents have been consumed. Bacteria can accumulate around the neck and lip of the bottle where it has been in direct contact with the mouth, and can easily be transferred to the water when the bottle is refilled.
