Best Companies
Each year Best Companies and the Sunday Times compile ranking lists of the best small, mid-size and big workplaces to work for in the UK; Danone UK appeared on the list in both 2005 and 2006.
In 2005 the list said of Danone UK: “This dairy products company believes its employees should share the taste of success with it: 81% find their work stimulating, 89% are excited about where Danone is going (a top four ranking), 85% feel their manager talks honestly with them and 79% believe he or she shares important information.”
Best Companies Accreditation acknowledges corporate excellence in the workplace. It gives organisations a One Star, Two Star, or Three Star status. One Star is acknowledged as First Class, Two Stars as Outstanding and Three Stars as Extraordinary.
Food and Drink Federation Community Partnership Awards
In 2006, three of Danone UK’s programmes were winners.
These awards recognise the food and drink sector’s long-standing commitment to the community and provide a showcase for companies’ widespread activities in corporate social responsibility.
BBC Big Challenge Health Works Awards
2005: Healthy Workplace award for medium-size London companies
BBC One’s Working Lunch programme teamed up with the BBC Big Challenge Health Works Award to find the companies that put their words into actions to improve the health and fitness of employees.
Danone UK’s commitment to its employees’ health through the Danone Active Health initiative won it the award for the London area.
Business in the Community Awards for Excellence
2006: Big Tick accreditation for Healthy Workplaces and runner-up in national competition
2007: Reaccredited
The Awards for Excellence promote a better way of doing business by encouraging companies to measure, continually improve and communicate their positive impact on society.
Danone UK’s Danone Active Health programme was accredited in 2006 and 2007 in the London and South-East region.
Employee Benefits Awards
2006: Most Effective Use of a Flexible Benefits Plan
Employee Benefits Awards.
The annual Employee Benefits Awards are run by the magazine of the same name. In winning the Most Effective Use of a Flexible Benefits Plan category, judges praised Danone UK’s approach to creating its Flexible Benefits scheme. Employees were closely consulted on the benefits that would be of most value to them and were instrumental in the scheme’s design.
